Alptransit San Gottardo

The Gotthard Base Tunnel is a railway tunnel through the Alps in Switzerland with a route length of 57 kilo meters, making it the world’s longest and deepest traffic tunnel.   Two single track tunnels connect Erstfedl with Bodio (Ticino).

The Gotthard Base Tunnel will revolutionize transport capacity through the Alpine barrier, shift freight volumes from trucks to freight trains, which may travel at speeds up to 250 km/h.

Cabel System’s participation in the project includes the provision of 22 power centers, installed in containers, and used to power all of the equipment involved during the construction and boring operation.  Efficient products built with expert craftsmanship, which deliver as promised at the urgent moment – this is part of Cabel System’s mission.
